In New York, Aaron worked as a junior sous chef at Bouley, managing each station and overseeing private events and parties. He also spent time at Jean-Georges’ The Mark Restaurant and as a Sous Chef at The Four Seasons Hotel. At famed restaurant Le Bernardin from Chef Eric Ripert, Aaron served as Sous Chef, managing the kitchen and helping to train the rest of the culinary staff.

Most recently in Atlanta, Aaron has worked at fine dining establishment Atlas Restaurant in Buckhead. At Lazy Betty as Chef de Cuisine and Partner, he oversees the restaurant’s founding as one of Atlanta’s culinary destinations and helps introduce menus that stand out locally and beyond.

About Chef DeeDee Niyomkul:

Chef DeeDee Niyomkul began her career in the restaurant industry at a very young age. Growing up as the daughter of Atlanta Thai food legends Charlie & Nan Niyomkul (Nan Thai Fine Dining & Tamarind), DeeDee found herself working nearly every position in her family’s restaurants including hosting, bartending, waitressing and managing; however, she found her true passion working in the kitchen.

Spending most of her early childhood with her grandmother (an original street food vendor in Bangkok, Thailand), DeeDee would spend countless hours in the kitchen with her grandmother at their home, where she acquired many of her grandmother’s original recipes and cooking techniques. In her early twenties DeeDee furthered her culinary infatuation by traveling to San Francisco where she studied under French Master Chef Xavier Salomon, priming her for her first Executive Chef position alongside her mother at Nan Thai Fine Dining in 2006.

After years of enchanting the palates of diners at the esteemed Nan Thai Fine Dining, DeeDee ventured to open her own restaurant Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft in January of 2010, an award-winning concept that offers a variety of small plates done in a tapas style, as well as larger entrees that show-case her version of gourmet Thai Street Food. Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft has since been named one of the Top Thai Restaurants in the United States by Travel + Leisure magazine.

In January of 2018 Chef DeeDee opened her newest restaurant concept Chai Yo Modern Thai, in the heart of Buckhead, where she constructs imaginative classical Thai dishes using modern techniques. Niyomkul’s menu at Chai Yo is carefully focused on delivering an inventive interplay of Thai flavors and textures, guiding the diner on a culinary exploration of provincial Thai dishes.

Chef DeeDee has a passion for traveling and frequently voyages across the diverse landscapes of Thailand to become inspired by ingredients which cause her carefully balanced dishes to shine. Chef DeeDee has appeared on “The Travel Channel”, “The Thai Food Network”, “Atlanta Eats” and “Good Day Atlanta”, as well as numerous print publications.

DeeDee currently resides in Atlanta with her husband and young son and in her spare time she enjoys traveling, dining out and cooking at home for family and friends.

About Lazy Betty:

Inspired by its community and guided by exquisite ingredients, the bright and well-executed tasting menus feature seasonal fare, made according to modern culinary technique and a thoughtful approach where every part contributes to the whole.

About Chai Yo Modern Thai:

Niyomkul’s menu is carefully focused on delivering an inventive interplay of Thai flavors and textures, guiding the diner on a culinary exploration of provincial Thai dishes.

Motivated to extract hidden culinary treasures, Chef DeeDee continually examines, tests and refines historical Thai recipes and traditions. She travels frequently across the diverse landscapes of rural Thailand to become inspired by ingredients which cause her carefully balanced dishes to shine.
