Have you ever wished that you could reply to Instagram DMs from your desktop?

After more than a year of testing, Instagram has finally brought their crucial direct messaging feature to desktop computers and web browsers that has up until recently been limited to the platform's mobile app.

The new feature should be very useful for businesses and individuals who receive a healthy influx of direct messages. Users are able to start one-on-one and group chats, read and send messages, share photos, and double-tap to react to responses.

To access the desktop messaging, go to instagram.com on any web browser on your laptop or desktop computer. You’ll see an icon on the top-right that looks like a paper airplane - the same icon for DM’s on Instagram’s mobile app.

Click on the icon to bring up your Direct Messages. From there, you can read and respond to DMs, share photos, and start new chats. Happy chatting!
